Key Rotation and Issued Claims

This article from Learning Machines talks about the desirability of anchoring or notarizing claims on the ledger as a means of proving their issuance date for purposes of ensuring you can tell they were issued when a particular key was being used by the issuer.

Trusted Timestamps

When I wrote Student Profiles: A Proof of Concept I had originally put the idea of notarizing claims in the document but was told that wasn’t necessary since the timestamp would be in the signed claim.

The Trusted Timestamp article seems to belie that statement. Does Sovrin have a different method for handling a misplaced key that doesn’t rely on claim identifiers written to the ledger?
